Grotta di Falco

Tha cave of Falco

An astonishing treasure is hidden in the cliffs of Capo Caccia, in the area of Alghero, in Sardinia. A natural treasure that belongs to everyone and it is wonderful to find out with mask and fins during a snorkeling tour, or with scuba diving –starting from a well equipped diving center– to visit, in safety, unique caves in the Mediterranean Sea. Here there are true masterpieces of nature: stalactites, stalagmites, lace in calcite that even the most skilled craftsmen would struggle to reproduce. (altro…)

Whoever visits the area of Alghero, cannot renounce to a snorkeling trip, including a tour of the cliffs. Capo Caccia, the silent giant which dominates the Riviera del Corallo (Coral Riviera), Logo beach bar per sito eng OKsymbolizes strength and unopposed nature, and is often even inaccessible. A huge cape of chalky rock located in the western side of Sardinia, which rises up from the sea to a height of 186 metres. At the highest point, we find the meteorological station of Capo Caccia, which hosts also the lighthouse; which is one of the most important and visible in the entire Mediterranean sea (visible from around 32 kilometres).

The sides of sheer snow-white rock which fall off into the sea, are inaccessible shelters for several specimens of animal; in particular for birds and raptors, which build their nests, exploiting the clefts and ridges of the cliffs.

A very striking tour, during which tourists are protagonists of an unforgettable experience, enjoying the grandeur of Capo Caccia and closely admiring caves and ravines which can be reached only by sea; including little natural paradises like the Isola Foradada (Foradada Island) and the Isola Piana (Piana Island).
Groups of up to max. 14 persons, are equipped with wet suits, flippers, and diving masks, including a buoy; an expert guide of the seabed of the Protected Marine Area accompanies the snorkeling tours.

Mens sana in corpore sano. “Techno-Tourism”: the new frontier of tourism in Sardinia is called TMW

18 dicembre 2012 | By

Research and technology applied to tourism. It starts from Alghero, in Sardinia, the innovative project TMW, acronym for Technological Multisport Week, experience in active tourism supported by advanced technologies.
The project was born from the cooperation between the sardinian society ArchiMete Ltd., headquartered in Tramariglio (Alghero – Capo Caccia) and specialized in active tourism and, Area 3 – A Human Motion Lab and Aqvatech Engineering, companies both operating in the Science and Technology Park of “Porto Conte Ricerche”, within the wonderful natural environment of Capo Caccia.
Tourism has potential for sustaining development of Sardinia and Italy, but is going through a difficult time due to the international economic crisis. That’s why ArchiMete, Area 3 and Aqvatech studied and launched TMW, multisport original and innovative week. The idea is to link the practice of sports to a unique environment: the area of Alghero, the land Park of Porto Conte and the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia and Isola Piana. Everything with the support of science, technology and training of the companies located in the prestigious Science and Technology Park of Porto Conte Ricerche.
In this way tourists have the opportunity to live environment and nature through the practice of activities such as diving, snorkeling, trekking, kayaking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

The added value of TMW is the possibility to make a check-up of physical qualities (such as strength, balance, body composition, etc..) during functional assessment performed by Area 3. The same model used by the athletes of Dinamo-Bank of Sardinia Sassari, team that (altro…)

Cala Inferno

4 febbraio 2012 | By

This is another path of great naturalistic interest, tucked away into the maquis which overlook the blue sea of Capo Caccia. The tourist centre ArchiMete is a perfect departure point because, from here, and by bike or by car, it is possible to reach the junction of Cala Dragunara-Belvedere Foradada. Following the latter direction, you arrive at the viewpoint clearings, which look towards the western side of Capo Caccia. From here, the path classified as “advanced excursion” starts; a quite difficult route, which runs along a path facing the sea and the sheer drop which dominates Cala Inferno. This stretch of coast also presents two stunning snorkeling routes to discover the heritage of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana.

What is ArchiMete

25 gennaio 2012 | By

.

ArchiMete, like Archimedes, a great genius and inventor.
It is a tourist centre specialized in the sector of active and dynamic tourism. “Archi” refers to archaeology, history and culture; “Mete” refers to longed for and wished for destinations. The aim is to offer tourists the opportunity to create a “clever” holiday, which meets everyone’s expectations as much as possible.
ArchiMete is located in the middle of the Tramariglio bay, between a land and sea reserve: the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte and the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana. A natural landscape, where it is possible to spend holidays periods having fun in total relaxation, and giving in to your every whim.
Activities foresee dives (the area of Capo Caccia is one of the most famous in the world for its stunning underwater caves), snorkeling including a tour of the cliffs; kayaking and hiking. The renting of rubber boats offers the possibility to experience this corner of earthly paradise in the most real and personal way imaginable.

Territory

21 gennaio 2012 | By

We are located in the heart of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana and the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte, directly looking out over the pebble beach of the Tramariglio bay. An out-and-out naturalistic, environmental, and well-positioned paradise, since the many diving, snorkeling and land tour points of the two natural reserves can easily be reached from the bay, which is well-sheltered from the winds and rough seas.

Therefore, the proximity to the town of Alghero, is an explicit invitation to organize a fascinating tour among the historical and cultural treasures of the ancient Catalan town.
