We are located in the heart of the Capo Caccia–Isola Piana Marine Protected Area and the Porto Conte Regional Natural Park, directly overlooking the beach of Tramariglio Bay. A true natural paradise, not only for its environmental value but also for its strategic position: the bay, well sheltered from winds and rough seas, allows easy access to the main diving and snorkeling spots, as well as convenient departures for land excursions within the two natural reserves.

The proximity to the city of Alghero also offers a natural invitation to discover the charm of its history and culture, strolling through the streets of its ancient Catalan-origin old town.

The City of Alghero

Alghero, with around 44,000 inhabitants, is the fifth largest city in Sardinia and is known worldwide as “Barceloneta” for its deep Catalan roots. Founded in the Middle Ages and conquered in 1353 by the Catalans led by Peter IV of Aragon, the city has preserved a strong Catalan cultural identity over the centuries, still visible today in the language, traditions and bilingual place names.

Alghero is also the heart of the “Coral Riviera”, renowned for the presence of precious red coral in the seabed between the town’s bay and Capo Caccia. This natural wealth has given rise to a long-standing artisanal tradition, evident in the many workshops and jewelry stores in the historic center where refined coral pieces are crafted and displayed.

The Marine Protected Area

Located in the heart of the Capo Caccia–Isola Piana Marine Protected Area, the ArchiMete Sardegna tourist center overlooks one of the most spectacular natural environments in the Mediterranean. With its underwater caves, limestone cliffs and life-rich seabeds, this area is an ideal destination for diving, snorkeling and nature excursions.

The marine reserve, which also includes the Porto Conte bay and the Capo Caccia promontory, preserves an extraordinary biodiversity: seagrass meadows of Posidonia oceanica, colorful gorgonians, the precious Corallium rubrum and numerous marine and pelagic species that make every dive a unique experience. A true paradise for sea and nature lovers, where the beauty of the landscape meets the richness of one of Sardinia’s most valuable ecosystems.

Porto Conte Park

The park offers highly diverse landscapes, from the spectacular cliffs between Capo Caccia and Punta Giglio to the inland hills, where deer, fallow deer and wild boars live in the wild, especially within the Le Prigionette State Forest.

Nearby, there are important natural areas such as Lake Baratz, the only natural lake in Sardinia and an ideal destination for trekking and outdoor activities, and the Calich Lagoon, a wetland rich in biodiversity and historical remains. The area also preserves valuable prehistoric and Nuragic archaeological sites, including the Anghelu Ruju Necropolis, the Santu Pedru Necropolis and Nuraghe Palmavera, which tell a millennia-old story dating back to the Neolithic period.
