The Netherlands remains one of the most attractive countries for tourism in Sardinia. We have seen this trend in Utrecht, at the Vakantiebeurs, the main tourism fair in the Land of Tulips, which ended yesterday.
Utrecht was the first stage of promotion in the Netherlands, because Saturday 25th January, ArchiMete’s staff will exhibit in Ede, in the Sardinië Vakantie Beurs, an event organized by Sardinië -info in the hall of the Hotel De Bosrand.
The fair in Utrecht also marked the debut of the new promotional campaign of ArchiMete, with the new catalogue of activities and new flyers printed in italian, english, german and dutch. Great interest about Sardinia, with couples, families and evergreen very passionate about Sardinian tourist offer. Both as accommodations (hotels, farm holidays, bed & breakfasts, campsites) and as the services of active tourism, in particular diving, snorkeling, kayaking and hiking. All these activities are organized in an area that includes two natural parks (one terrestrial and another marine) and is Unesco heritage.

Ede is a very interesting place for the tourist market too, because organized and opened to operators who want to discuss and do business only with Sardinia. A nice opportunity for the upcoming tourist season, when ArchiMete will show new ideas and proposals with convenient accommodation service.

ArchiMete WRTD 2013

Looking to the scenarios of economic recovery by working with care and attention to sustainable and responsible tourism: this should be the aim for those who live and work in a beautiful region such as Sardinia.
We are leaving for the international tourism fair World Travel Market – WTM 2013 in London, from 4th to 7th November, with the precise intention to propose a model of tourism and hospitality that is as much as possible in harmony with the trend ” slow ” that fascinates and attracts mainly tourists in central and northern Europe.
Many tourists are attracted in active tourism, a sector which sees ArchiMete as interesting landmark in the area of Alghero, in particular in the Regional Park of Porto Conte and in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia -Isola Piana.
We will be in the stand EM1800 of Sardinia Region, Italy-Enit pavilion in Europe and Mediterranean area, ready to present one of the many sardinian tourist potential. A region of Italy where there are many opportunities to boost the creation of new skilled jobs : obviously in the sector of tourism and related industries directly connected.

ArchiMete-Capo Caccia patrimonio Unesco

The summer season that has just ended was rewarding: especially popular activities such as scuba diving , snorkeling, hiking, kayaking and even rubber boat rentals that allow you to live in a dynamic way, and relax in a unique area that is also Unesco heritage.
All activities are managed in a sustainable and responsible way. That’s the reason why on the last 21st September ArchiMete received the Italian Responsible Tourism Award 2013, a prestigious prize created by the newspaper L’Agenzia di Viaggi in partnership with (altro…)

Living the sea, the nature and the history in safety. In Alghero (Sardinia), the tourist center ArchiMete has just launched, in cooperation with OveringDiving, internal diving center, the new season of courses in several specialties.
In addition to classical Open Water Diver (OWD, 1st level, up to 18 meters) and Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD, 2nd level, up to 39 meters), the center offers the specialty in underwater archaeology. The idea was born with the specific aim of supporting the tourist and spread the principles of protection of historical, artistic and cultural heritage which are located above and below the sea. In the full knowledge that the area of Alghero and Capo Caccia is a real field of culture, history and archeology.

The course is divided into four areas: a theoretical part which delves into the history of underwater archeology and archaeological research, one dedicated to the methodology of classification based on the findings, another section on research techniques and detection of underwater contexts. Finally, a study on international law.

Dive safely. Some useful tips

Diving

With first days summery, for lovers of sea and diving begins the irresistible fun to wear wetsuits and tanks and regain the wonders of the marine world.
But before giving vent to passion is good to take into consideration a few golden rules that will make it even more enjoyable diving season long.
A good physical preparation is certainly an important factor. A great help is already from simple everyday practices, how to choose the stairs instead of the elevator, park the car a little more distant from the place you want to achieve, so to be “obliged” to go a little road fast pace, if possible prefer the bike to the car, avoid smoking and taking any kind of drugs. It is essential to perform a medical check-up every year and, besides these few rules, you should practice a bit of non-competitive sports aerobics such as jogging, Nordic walking, football, soccer and all those sports that move in a harmonious way all the muscles of the body.
Therefore, we are almost ready for a dip in the water! But first, especially for those who have only recently started diving or has not matured sufficiently long experience, it is appropriate to review the basic rules of the diving. If the idle period is quite long, it is a good idea to refresh dives (possibly even in the pool) and regain confidence with the equipment. Important tips will come to the instructor who has followed you during the course or the book on which you have studied in order to achieve the diving-licence, the necessary certification to dive.

Finally! It’s time to dive! At the diving or the tourist center you will find all the services necessary to perform diving. So what are you waiting for? Let’s go splash!

10 rules for safe diving:
1) be medically fit to practice diving;
2) keep himself fit;
3) keep the diving licence in efficiency by performing diving during the whole season;
4) prudence with the first dive of the season, always respecting the buddy system;
5) always comply the depth limits of the diving licence that you own and, in any case, for recreational diving never exceed 39 meters;
6) dive only if you are in good health and do not worry if a general malaise should also preclude the dive of your buddy. Never waive the security;
7) Plan carefully the dive, the depth and refresh the conventional signals;
8) Always check the efficiency of your equipment and get to know the functionality of the companion or that the rented;
9) At the end of the dive avoid physical effort in order to promote tissue desaturation of the body;
10) Do not take the airplane for 24 hours after the dive and do not go to high altitude to avoid pressure problems that could be highly dangerous.

And now … mask, fins and tanks and off we go!

Sardinia, an Island for all seasons. Bitas 2013, active tourism is served.

5 Marzo 2013 | By

Bitas 2013

The Active tourism is the “flagship” of touristic offer in Sardinia, a region that proposes many opportunities to live a period of fun and relax in outdoor activities and wonderful natural environments.
The appointment for the Sardinian touristic industry, both national and international, is at Bosa (Province of Oristano) from 12 to 17th march, where is planned the 4th edition of BITAS, International Active Tourism  Fair in Sardinia, organized by Agenzia Sardegna Promozione under the patronage of ENIT, the Italian National Agency for Tourism, which acknowledged “the high tourist value of the event.”
Touristic, but also economic, we might add. Because tourism is a precious sector for the development of our beautiful Island and the national economy in general. The aim of the event is to promote and boost active tourism as one of the major events backing the purpose of developing an “all year long tourism season” in Sardinia. So tourists have the opportunity to have fun with scuba diving, snorkeling tour, kayaking, hiking, Nordic walking, horse riding, sailing and many other outdoor activities.
In active tourism, many touristic companies decided to study and develop new ideas and projects. For example the Technological Multisport Week (TMW), multisport week supported by advanced technologies and developed together Area 3 – A Human Motion Lab and Aqvatech Engineering, companies both operating in the Science and Technology Park of “Porto Conte Ricerche”, at Capo Caccia-Alghero.
BITAS is a strategic fair for the next tourist season and the hope is that the participation of tourism companies is a further incentive to improve infrastructures and networks for a sector that for Sardinia is simply essential.

Mens sana in corpore sano. “Techno-Tourism”: the new frontier of tourism in Sardinia is called TMW

18 Dicembre 2012 | By

Research and technology applied to tourism. It starts from Alghero, in Sardinia, the innovative project TMW, acronym for Technological Multisport Week, experience in active tourism supported by advanced technologies.
The project was born from the cooperation between the sardinian society ArchiMete Ltd., headquartered in Tramariglio (Alghero – Capo Caccia) and specialized in active tourism and, Area 3 – A Human Motion Lab and Aqvatech Engineering, companies both operating in the Science and Technology Park of “Porto Conte Ricerche”, within the wonderful natural environment of Capo Caccia.
Tourism has potential for sustaining development of Sardinia and Italy, but is going through a difficult time due to the international economic crisis. That’s why ArchiMete, Area 3 and Aqvatech studied and launched TMW, multisport original and innovative week. The idea is to link the practice of sports to a unique environment: the area of Alghero, the land Park of Porto Conte and the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia and Isola Piana. Everything with the support of science, technology and training of the companies located in the prestigious Science and Technology Park of Porto Conte Ricerche.
In this way tourists have the opportunity to live environment and nature through the practice of activities such as diving, snorkeling, trekking, kayaking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

The added value of TMW is the possibility to make a check-up of physical qualities (such as strength, balance, body composition, etc..) during functional assessment performed by Area 3. The same model used by the athletes of Dinamo-Bank of Sardinia Sassari, team that (altro…)

Green and responsible is better. ArchiMete is official supporter of WTM World Responsible Tourism Day

22 Settembre 2012 | By

Many small individual actions to reach a great goal: protect the environment and have a better world to live. And…, of course, where to spend unique holidays!
It is the spirit of our company, that operates in the hearth of north-west Sardinia, in the Regional Natural park of Porto Conte and in the Marine protected area of Capo Caccia-isola Piana.
For us the “green philosophy” it’s a must. And we believe in it strongly.
That’s why in this first year we chose to participate at the World Travel Market in London (5-8 november), and we joined the WTM World Responsible Tourism Day 2012, planned on 7th november.

WTM WRTD has four realistic objectives for this day of action and with support from the UNWTO wants the industry to work together to:

Responsible tourism … at work. The challenge is open at the World Travel Market 2012 in London

12 Agosto 2012 | By

The labour policies in Sardinia must pass by a well-coordinated revival of tourism. In whatever form it is developed (of course, better if sustainable and responsible): active, hotels, campings, luxury, linked to the sea, golf and many other activities.
But if the goal is to create prosperity for a region unique in the world for nature, culture, traditions, food and wine, the whole system needs to change pace quickly.
If it is true -as unfortunately confirms recent statistics compiled by the study centers of many professional associations- that in Italy one day per week is burned by bureaucracy, honor to italians entrepreneurs that, despite the difficulties, are able to obtain excellent results.

The entrepreneurial class continues to invest in productive sectors that are more interesting. And among these, in Sardinia, there is of course tourism. For this reason, from 5 to 8 November  2012, ArchiMete staff will be in London, among the exhibitors at World Travel Market – WTM 2012 – International Fair of Tourism, which is one of the most important appointments for the operators tourism industry worldwide. The WTM 2012 comes five months after the workshop in Spanish buyers and tour operators in Sardinia promoted in Madrid and that allowed us to test the great interest that the Western European market has for Sardinia.

We have chosen to participate at WTM 2012 in London in the awareness to represent a part of one of the many tourist potential of this region. We think strongly that this effort can become powerful driving force for the creation of new jobs, yet highly qualified.
ArchiMete staff will be

Living the history to challenge the future

14 Febbraio 2012 | By

A headquarters with a long, curious and fascinating history: the structure where the tourist centre of the Tramariglio bay is located (from the Catalan “Tramarill”, meaning “Between two seas”) dates back to the early Forties. The building, in fact, was created as a quarters for soldiers, and specifically for Policemen, who served at the former penal colony. The clearly visible prison of Tramariglio, now open to guided visits, and which is now also the prestigious headquarters of the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte, was the heart of a small village of convicts, who were employed in draining the Nurra back in 1933. However, Tramariglio was quite a different penal colony, above all, thanks to the goals of the director during that period, who was more focused on the principles of rehabilitation and the redemption of the prisoners, rather than on a hard but useless prison system. And he achieved very important results, because the convicts, in addition to draining the area, also realized important works of reforestation of the area; as well as planting vineyards and pine-eucalyptus, in addition to the ordinary and extraordinary upkeep of this northern-western area of Sardinia. The results of this effort is something that both tourist operators and visitors can still enjoy today, and they are personally asked to respect the nature of this area.
The complex of the former penal colony was decommissioned by the prison administration in 1997, and the bodies which manage the area – the Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte and the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana– allowed for a judicious and careful use of the structures by tourist operators, who were aware of the natural, historical, cultural and rural treasure; real jewels to keep and preserve because they make this part of the island unique.
